
Wisconsin will enshrine the state’s voter ID regulation within the state structure after voters accredited the proposal on Tuesday.

Wisconsin already requires that voters have photograph ID with the intention to take part on the polls, however the measure now elevates that regulation to a constitutional modification.

President Donald Trump celebrated the regulation being added to the state structure on Reality Social after the vote was known as Tuesday evening.
“VOTER I.D. JUST APPROVED IN WISCONSIN ELECTION. Democrats fought onerous in opposition to this, presumably to allow them to CHEAT. This can be a BIG WIN FOR REPUBLICANS, MAYBE THE BIGGEST WIN OF THE NIGHT. IT SHOULD ALLOW US TO WIN WISCONSIN, LIKE I JUST DID IN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, FOR MANY YEARS TO COME!” the president wrote.

9 states, together with Wisconsin, require that voters current photograph ID, although Wisconsin’s necessities are the strictest, in line with the Nationwide Convention of State Legislatures. There are legal guidelines in 36 states requiring or requesting that voters present some form of identification, the NCSL mentioned.
