Hours after an American Airways passenger aircraft with 64 aboard collided mid-air with a US Military Black Hawk helicopter close to Ronald Reagan Washington Nationwide Airport, a video of the incident has surfaced displaying the fiery explosion.
Based on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the passenger plane concerned was PSA-operated Flight 5342 for American Airways, which had departed from Wichita, Kansas. The airline confirmed that 60 passengers and 4 crew members have been onboard.

The US Military UH-60 Black Hawk, primarily based out of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, was conducting a coaching flight on the time of the collision, Joint Activity Power-Nationwide Capital Area spokesperson Heather Chairez instructed Reuters. The helicopter had three troopers onboard, however their situation stays unknown. A US official, talking anonymously, confirmed that no senior navy officers have been aboard the plane.

President Donald Trump launched an announcement acknowledging the severity of the accident. He said, “I’ve been totally briefed on the horrible accident which simply happened at Reagan Nationwide Airport. Could God Bless their souls. Thanks for the unbelievable work being executed by our first responders. I’m monitoring the state of affairs and can present extra particulars as they come up.”
In the meantime, US Senator Ted Cruz indicated that there have been fatalities from the collision, although he didn’t specify what number of. In a publish on X, he mentioned, “I’m carefully monitoring the state of affairs at DCA, and I’ll obtain a briefing from the FAA tomorrow. Whereas we don’t but know what number of on board have been misplaced, we all know there are fatalities. Please be part of Heidi and me in praying for all concerned because the search and rescue is underway.”
