Eight folks had been killed and a dozen others had been injured when a bus they had been travelling in overturned after colliding with a water tanker which was irrigating vegetation on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway right here on Friday, police stated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the lack of lives within the Kannauj accident and introduced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the PMNRF for the households of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
The accident occurred round 2 pm within the Sakrawa space when the non-public sleeper bus was on its manner from Lucknow to Delhi, in line with the police.
“Eight passengers misplaced their lives within the accident, and round a dozen injured passengers are receiving remedy on the Saifai Medical School in Etawah district ,” stated Kannauj Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand.
The passengers who escaped unharmed had been despatched to their locations in one other bus, he added.
