President-elect Donald Trump introduced he’ll nominate Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister to steer the Drug Enforcement Administration.
In a publish on Fact Social on Saturday, Trump stated that Chronister — who has served the Tampa, Florida, space for over 32 years — will work along with his lawyer basic choice, Pam Bondi, to assist safe the U.S.-Mexico Border.
The DEA administrator is a Senate-confirmed place.
“As DEA Administrator, Chad will work with our nice Legal professional Normal, Pam Bondi, to safe the Border, cease the circulation of Fentanyl, and different Unlawful Medication, throughout the Southern Border, and SAVE LIVES,” Trump wrote.

Chronister was appointed to steer the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Workplace by then-Florida Gov. Rick Scott in 2017 and has been twice reelected by voters.
He holds a bachelor’s and grasp’s diploma in science in prison justice from St. Leo College and is a graduate of the FBI Nationwide Academy’s 260th session.
Chronister is married to Nikki DeBartolo and has two sons.
Florida Legal professional Normal Ashley Moody took to X on Saturday to congratulate Chronister on the nomination and reward his expertise in preventing on the “frontlines” of the opioid disaster.
“Chad has fought on the frontlines of the opioid disaster, and I do know his management and a long time of expertise might be invaluable as we work to fight the circulation of Mexican fentanyl into our county,” Moody wrote.
