In a major anti drug trafficking operation the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday seized 8 Kgs of narcotics in Srinagar and arrested two traffickers allegedly operating a drug racket within the metropolis.
SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Hussain mentioned that the preliminary evaluation means that the drug seized is heroin and “the recovered narcotics have been smuggled from Pakistan.”
The accused have been recognized as Anas Ajaz Awan and Zahid Ahmad Sheikh each from Tangdhar, Kupwara, police mentioned.
An FIR below related sections of the NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Parimpora, and additional investigation is occurring. SSP Hussain mentioned that the police are actively pursuing ahead and backward linkages of the drug racket.
