Regent Avenue, one among central London’s busiest buying and media districts, was evacuated on Wednesday because of a bomb menace after the invention of a suspicious car.
The Metropolitan police stated in a press release that shortly after 2.30pm, a parked car, that had brought on the alarm, was discovered to be non-suspicious and the incident had been “absolutely stood down”, The Guardian reported.
Based on Metro, a black Audi A4 with damaged home windows and a crumpled boot was taped off on close by New Burlington Avenue.
Experiences recommend that the incident didn’t initially look like terror-related.
Earlier, the police had stated on X, “Highway closures are in place within the neighborhood of Regent Avenue and New Burlington Avenue whereas officers examine a suspicious car. Officers have carried out various managed explosions as a precautionary measure.”
Video and pictures posted on social media confirmed consumers working alongside a avenue and heavy police presence and different emergency companies.
