
The Calcutta Excessive Courtroom on Thursday directed the state administration to reconstitute the Paschim Medinipur Ladies’s Police Station within the wake of the allegations of torture of scholars who have been detained throughout a protest on the Vidyasagar College campus.
Elevating a number of questions, Justice Tirthankar Ghosh informed state Advocate Common Kishore Dutt, “The police station just isn’t so as. Inform the DG to take motion. In any other case, I will probably be compelled to offer strict orders.” He additional noticed, “I’ve seen the CCTV footage. There’s proof of torture. It isn’t okay to torture by detaining or arresting somebody. Ask them to reorganise that police station.”
On March 3, the ladies members of DSO and College students’ Federation of India (SFI) have been allegedly assaulted by policemen throughout a protest on the Vidyasagar College campus in Paschim Medinipur over the Jadavpur College incident.
