A 38-year-old quack was arrested in Basirhat in North 24 Parganas district on Monday for allegedly raping a lady affected person after injecting her with a tranquilizer, police stated.
In response to a grievance filed by the girl and her husband, the accused had recorded the act and began blackmailing her, demanding Rs 4 lakh for not making the video viral, added police.
“We arrested the accused quack after receiving the grievance in opposition to him. He was produced earlier than the district courtroom on Tuesday and was despatched in police custody for 5 days,” SP (Basirhat) Hossain Mehedi Rehman stated.
The accused hails from Hasnabad in the identical district.
