
The Pune metropolis police have arrested a 25-year-old lady getting ready for financial institution exams for allegedly drugging her good friend and former roommate by giving her chilly espresso laced with sedatives and stealing her gold ornaments price Rs 5.46 lakh.
Aishwarya Sanjay Garad, a resident of Ambegaon Pathar, was arrested on April 3 following a criticism lodged with the Bharati Vidyapeeth police by a 31-year-old resident of a housing society on the Sinhagad School highway in Ambegaon Budruk.
As per the FIR, the complainant, whose husband is an IT engineer, and Garad had been roommates. Garad allegedly got here to fulfill the housewife with a chilly espresso on March 6. After ingesting the espresso, she misplaced consciousness and when she wakened after a number of hours, Garad had left the home.
Once more on March 26, Garad got here to fulfill the girl at her dwelling with a chilly espresso. This time too the girl felt sleepy after ingesting the espresso. Later she went to Garad’s home however began feeling unwell, prompting her to see a health care provider along with her husband.
As per the FIR, on March 30 the girl determined to put on her gold jewelry on the event of Gudi Padwa. However she was shocked to see that the jewelry saved inside her cabinet had been stolen.

Suspecting that the espresso was laced with sedatives, the girl known as Garad over the telephone. Garad then admitted to have stolen the girl’s jewelry however didn’t return it, as per the FIR. So she filed a criticism with the police.
The police arrested Garad underneath Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 305 (theft at a home) and 123 (hurting with poison and so on).

“We have now recovered the stolen jewelry from the accused. She has been getting ready for financial institution exams. Additional investigation is on,” stated Senior Inspector Savalaram Salgaonkar of the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station.
