The excise division has suspended the liquor licence of Bohca restobar in Delhi’s Qutub Resort and issued a show-cause discover and order, asking the administration to elucidate why the licence shouldn’t be cancelled.
Stating that the tourism certificates, on the premise of which an L-16 liquor licence was given to Bohca, had expired in July, the excise division gave the licensee 15 days to elucidate why the licence shouldn’t be cancelled for the lapse.
Messages and calls to the restobar administration went unanswered.
“…the Licensee (Bohca) has not submitted a renewed certificates from the Tourism Division until date and by non renewal of the certificates…the Licensee has violated the availability of Rule 51 (10) of Delhi Excise Rule 2010, and subsequently, the license (of Bocha)…is hereby suspended with fast impact for the above stated lapse,” the order dated December 20 stated.
“In the mean time the Licensee (Bohca) is directed to stop the operation of service of liquor with fast impact,” learn the order.
It additionally directed Bohca to submit its reply, mentioning that failing this, it will be presumed that “the licensee shouldn’t be in possession of certificates from Ministry of Tourism”.
