A police officer was killed and a suspect wounded throughout a capturing in North Texas, police stated Tuesday.
Police Chief Chris Smith stated Officer Cooper Dawson died in a hospital following the capturing Monday evening in Greenville, about 70 kilometres northeast of Dallas.
Dawson was ambushed throughout a foot chase following an tried visitors cease, Smith stated. Dawson returned fireplace and hit the suspect, who was hospitalised.
“We’re heartbroken over the lack of Officer Cooper Dawson, who selflessly put his life on the road to serve and shield our group,” Smith stated in a press release.
