Following repeated complaints from citizen boards and public representatives, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Restricted (PMPML) has introduced strict measures towards bus drivers and conductors who violate visitors guidelines. The general public transport company warned that violations, together with utilization of cellphones whereas driving, stopping at zebra crossings, and ignoring visitors indicators, may lead to suspension of the involved workers.
The PMPML gives bus companies to rural areas close to Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the areas falling beneath the jurisdiction of the Pune Metropolitan Regional Growth Authority.
The complaints that the PMPML obtained primarily embrace utilizing cellphones whereas driving, stopping buses at zebra crossings, smoking, failing to alter route boards, not adhering to lane self-discipline, and working visitors indicators amongst different points.
In accordance with the instructions issued by the Chairperson and Managing Director of PMPML, “Drivers and conductors are instructed to stick to the aforementioned guidelines and laws, which embrace respecting velocity limits, sustaining lane self-discipline, refraining from utilizing cellphones, and parking the buses near the bus cease, amongst others.”
Nevertheless, if the above guidelines will not be adopted, the authority has instructed workers that the criticism can be investigated, and strict motion can be taken towards the drivers and conductors concerned, which can embrace suspension.
