The Centre on Wednesday stated that the variety of vacant educating posts within the central universities is 5,182. This was acknowledged by the Minister of State within the Ministry of Schooling, Sukanta Mazumdar in a written reply to an unstarred query within the Rajya Sabha. The variety of vacancies is as on October 31, 2024.
Whereas replying to the question on what steps are taken by the federal government for normal appointments to the stated posts, the minister stated: “Occurring of vacancies and filling thereof is a steady course of. The vacancies come up attributable to retirement, resignation and extra necessities on account of enhanced college students’ power; the onus of filling up the posts lies on the Central Universities (CUs).”
“Ministry of Schooling and College Grants Fee (UGC) often monitor the establishments and the Central Universities have been directed to replenish the vacancies in common mode. By means of particular recruitment drives greater than 7650 educating positions have been crammed within the Central Universities,” the minister added.
UGC has launched a unified recruitment portal known as CU-Chayan on Could 2, 2023 to offer a standard platform for itemizing of vacancies, commercials or jobs throughout all central universities.
In one other response, the minister stated as much as October 29, 2024, a complete variety of 25,777 posts have been crammed up together with 15,139 college positions, in mission mode by the Central Increased Schooling Establishments (CHEIs).
