Authorities of Berhampur-based MKCG Medical Faculty and Hostel on Sunday terminated 4 medical doctors, together with an assistant professor and three senior residents from their providers, and debarred a second-year postgraduate resident from the hostel for six months for allegedly assaulting a pupil on December 20, an official mentioned on Sunday.
Purushottam Swain, assistant professor of orthopedics, Aryan Kumar Mohanty, Chinmay Pradhan, senior residents engaged as contractual medical doctors within the paediatric division, and Yashwant Veera, postgraduate senior resident within the division of common surgical procedure, have been terminated, whereas Priyajeet Sahoo, second-year postgraduate resident in orthopedics, has been debarred from the hostel for six months, the official added.
The motion was taken after a choice within the faculty council assembly on December 23 and was directed by the director of medical training and coaching (DMET) for disciplinary causes, mentioned Suchitra Sprint, dean and principal of the Odisha government-run medical faculty.
Police have registered a case within the matter after the sufferer PG pupil lodged an FIR in Baidyanathpur police station. The sufferer alleged that he was bodily assaulted by his senior on the hostel premises round 12.30 am on December 20.
