‘Not given life jacket, security directions’: Survivors | Mumbai Information

Among the many survivors many had been vacationers to Mumbai, with a few of them travelling on a ship for the primary time.

“None of us had been sporting life jackets. Even after the boat capsized, only a few managed to place one on, and a few of the kids had been being supported by fellow passengers,” stated Natharam Chaudhary, a passenger on ferry.

Chaudhary, a Kurla resident, had come to go to Elephanta Island alongside together with his family members who had been on a go to from Ahmedabad. All of them had been rescued by officers.

“My family members had been supposed to go away for Ahmedabad on Thursday, and we determined to go to Elephanta Island on our final day. The crew didn’t give us any life jacket and neither did they move on any instruction concerning the security whereas on board,” stated Jitu Chaudhary, Natharam’s uncle.

Natharam had caught on video the second when the Navy boat crashed into the ferry.

“We had been filming a reel once we noticed a speedboat performing stunts within the sea. We started recording, and abruptly, the speedboat made two rounds earlier than crashing into our ferry,” Natharam recounted.

Regardless of the preliminary shock, passengers remained calm till one of many crew members finally alerted them and instructed everybody to put on life jackets.
