Prince William and the royal household paid tribute to a British man killed within the New Orleans terrorist assault.
Edward Pettifer, 31, was recognized as one of many victims concerned within the assault on Bourbon Avenue within the early morning hours of New 12 months’s Day.
Pettifer was from London, and his stepmother is a former nanny to Prince William and Prince Harry.

“Catherine and I’ve been shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of life of Ed Pettifer,” an announcement shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram stated.
“Our ideas and prayers stay with the Pettifer household and all these harmless individuals who have been tragically impacted by this horrific assault.”
The assertion concluded with the letter W, as Prince William signed off on the tribute posted on social media.
Within the Nineteen Nineties, Pettifer’s stepmother, Alexandra “Tiggy” Legge-Bourke, was a nanny to Prince William and Prince Harry.
The Pettifer household shared an announcement issued by London’s Metropolitan Police.

“All the household are devastated on the tragic information of Ed’s loss of life in New Orleans. He was a beautiful son, brother, grandson, nephew and a good friend to so many.
“We’ll all miss him terribly. Our ideas are with the opposite households who’ve misplaced their relations attributable to this horrible assault. We request that we will grieve the lack of Ed as a household in non-public. Thanks.”
King Charles was reportedly deeply saddened to be taught of Pettifer’s loss of life and had been in contact with the household to cross on his private condolences, in accordance with Reuters.

Buckingham Palace didn’t instantly reply to Fox Information Digital’s request for remark.

Pettifer’s father, Charles, a former British military officer, married “Tiggy” in 1999, shortly after she had stepped down as nanny to Prince William and Prince Harry.
The household remained near British royalty, and Pettifer’s stepbrother Tom was a web page at William and Kate Middleton’s marriage ceremony in 2011.
A minimum of 14 folks have been killed in Wednesday’s assault, and dozens of others have been injured, the FBI stated.

Heartbroken household and associates moved to determine the rising variety of victims after Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who regulation enforcement has recognized as the person who carried out the assault, plowed a pickup truck into a big crowd on Bourbon Avenue.
Jabbar was “hell-bent on creating the carnage and harm that he did,” New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick stated.

“It was very intentional conduct,” the superintendent of police added. “This man was attempting to run over as many individuals as he presumably might.”
