Alex Bowman thought he had wrapped up a NASCAR Cup Sequence playoff spot on Sunday when he completed in 18th place and received Stage 2 within the Financial institution of America Roval 400 on the Charlotte Motor Speedway Highway Course.

NASCAR decided that Bowman’s No. 48 car failed to fulfill the minimal weight requirement in his post-race inspection. Officers disqualified Bowman and moved him all the way down to thirty eighth place. It meant Bowman didn’t earn sufficient factors to make the playoffs and was faraway from the Spherical of 8.
As a substitute, Joey Logano was thrust into the ultimate spot within the subsequent spherical. Logano joined Denny Hamlin, William Byron, Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson, Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott and Tyler Reddick.
