
Six policemen connected to the Vakola police station have been transferred to a aspect posting as provisional punishment on Saturday after allegations had been made towards them for assaulting two activists of Bajrang Dal, who had gone to the police station together with a minor lady to file a molestation case towards a member of one other group.
A senior police officer confirmed the event to The Indian Categorical and mentioned that two officers and 4 constables from the Vakola police station have been transferred to the Naigaon native arms division ‘in public curiosity’ on Saturday.
The six policemen, who confronted motion, are recognized as assistant inspector Shivaji Shinde, probationary sub-inspector Achyut Naikare, head constable Suresh Madhgundi, constables Dyaneshwar Shinde, Pradeep Mistry and Arvind Raut.
As per police sources, an officer bearer of the Bajrang Dal; Jaikishan Prajapati, and one other member of the organisation final month had gone to the Vakola police to allegedly get an FIR registered towards the member of a group on costs of molesting a minor lady in Santacruz East.
Prajapati had additionally taken the sufferer lady to the police station to assist her file an FIR.
Nevertheless, it was alleged that the 2 law enforcement officials and 4 constables of the Vakola police station forcefully took Prajapati and his affiliate to the detection room of the police station and allegedly assaulted them brutally.
Although the Vakola police registered a case of molestation of the minor lady, activists from Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad protested towards the alleged brutality on the police’s fingers and met the zone 8 DCP demanding motion towards the six policemen.

On the directions of seniors, the zonal DCP performed an inquiry, and despatched the inquiry report back to the police headquarters.
“Appearing on this inquiry report, the senior brass of the police division on Saturday transferred the six cops to the native arms division and initiated a departmental inquiry towards the six,” a senior police officer mentioned.
