A right-wing outfit allegedly demolished what they claimed was an illegally constructed mazar inside a prestigious residential faculty in Dehradun Wednesday.
Members of Sanatan Sanskriti streamed the alleged demolition reside on social media, sparking a row over the safety breach at Doon College — an elite all-boys establishment attended by the youngsters of a number of public figures.
The video purportedly confirmed some members scaling the partitions of the establishment to get in and tearing down a small construction beneath a tree.
Radha Dhoni, the president of the group, alleged the construction violated the chief minister’s directive in opposition to non secular edifices in public establishments. Within the livestream, Dhoni is purportedly heard justifying the demolition, claiming: “They have been constructing a mazar the place there was once Saraswati pooja. It’s unusual that faculties would have mazars now”.
Doon College has refused to touch upon the difficulty and has not made a proper police criticism. In the meantime, Dehradun District Justice of the Peace Savin Bansal advised the media that the administration had not issued demolition orders.
“Nevertheless, we did ship a staff together with the sub-divisional Justice of the Peace to the place to confirm the details associated to the mazar and be sure that legislation and order are maintained,” he stated.
