
Mumbai’s Powai police booked three members of the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and a grocery app supply boy on Tuesday for allegedly slapping a 40-year-old safety guard of a Powai residential society for not talking in Marathi.
The society guard, Bhavaniprasad Jha from Dabhanga in Bihar, who has been employed with Stealth Administration Options Personal Restricted for 4 years, was posted as a safety guard at L&T Emerald Housing Society in Powai.
On Monday at round 8:30pm, a grocery supply firm’s supply boy, Ajinkya, arrived on the society to ship a parcel to a resident. As per the FIR, Jha requested Ajinkya in Hindi which flat he wanted to ship the parcel to. Ajinkya talked about the flat quantity and Jha made the entry within the register. However this angered the supply boy, as he didn’t like Jha enquiring with him.
After dropping off the parcel, Ajinkya, whereas leaving, abused Jha with out him. When Jha confronted him, Ajinkya began recording Jha’s video and instructed him to talk in Marathi. Ajinkya stored on asking him to talk in Marathi. Irritated Jha then instructed him, “Marathi gayi tel legane, tum gali kyu dete hai?” (To hell with Marathi; why did you abuse me?)”
Ajinkya threatened Jha and left, solely to return at 9.30pm with three others, the FIR acknowledged.
Jha was confronted by Ajinkya, and three others — Vijay Nikam, Sanjay Mule and Mahesh Giram within the presence of Jha’s supervisor.
