A truck driver from Manipur was arrested 10 days in the past with 4 kilograms of heroin close to Mayur Vihar toll plaza, whereas attempting to traffick them throughout Delhi Nationwide Capital Area (NCR), the police stated.
In keeping with the police, Animesh Sarkar, 40, is a part of an inter-state drug cartel primarily based in Manipur and was concerned in trafficking the narcotic substance for the previous three years.
The police arrested Sarkar whereas he was attempting to get out of an autorickshaw close to the Mayur Vihar toll plaza close to DND flyover on August 28 to distribute the contraband, stated an officer.
“He used to select up the consignments from Imphal and transport them through his truck to West Bengal, Bihar and Delhi NCR. On August 27, he once more picked up the consignment and was about to distribute it in Delhi,” Amit Kaushik, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South/TYR), Particular Cell, stated.
