A 51-year-old man has been arrested on fees of raping and impregnating his minor daughter in Karnataka’s Gadag district, police stated on Wednesday. The crime got here to mild when the lady was taken to a hospital by her mom on Monday after she complained of swelling in her legs.
Throughout a medical examination, medical doctors found the lady was 31 weeks pregnant. Shocked by the revelation, the mom confronted her daughter, who then disclosed that her father had been sexually assaulting her over the previous 12 months each time nobody else was house. The lady stated he had threatened to kill her if she revealed the abuse to anybody, a police officer stated.
A case was registered below the Safety of Kids from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on a grievance lodged by the mom, following which the lady’s father was arrested on Tuesday.
The police stated the lady has been supplied with counselling and can endure additional medical analysis because the investigation is ongoing.
