
To hunt justice for Aditya Thakur, a 22-year-old second-year pc science scholar at Panjab College’s College Institute of Engineering and Expertise (UIET), who was fatally stabbed throughout a live performance by Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma on March 28, the Joint Motion Committee (JAC), PU, Friday organised a classroom boycott within the physics and chemistry departments, with college students displaying unanimous help for the motion.
As per the committee, this boycott will now lengthen to different departments throughout the college, and till justice is served, no tutorial or administrative actions might be allowed to perform inside the college.
On Thursday night time, the JAC initiated a sequence starvation strike, beginning with a scholar from the College Institute of Engineering and Expertise (UIET). As per a consultant, even after 18-20 hours, no consultant from PU’s administration has come ahead to have interaction with the scholars.
“This means that the administration is trying to suppress college students’ voices and ignore their battle. Nevertheless, JAC needs to make it clear that this starvation strike is only the start — if essential, it will likely be transformed into an indefinite starvation strike. If any scholar’s well being deteriorates throughout this protest, the V-C and the administration might be held instantly accountable,” stated a scholar.
On Friday, the PU administration known as for a proper assembly, however there was no decision, and the JAC has determined that on April 7, PU might be utterly shut down, no lessons might be held, no exams will happen, and no administrative work might be executed.
