The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday stated it detained two officers of the Central Items and Providers Tax (CGST) and a 3rd individual in Ahmedabad on costs of corruption.
Mohammad Rizwan Shaikh, Superintendent of Central Tax, CGST Audit, Ahmedabad Class-II and Kuldeep Mulchand Kushwah, Inspector, CGST Audit, Ahmedabad Class-III, together with one Bhowmik Bharatbhai Soni, had been detained on Thursday.
An announcement from the ACB stated that officers, led by Inspector AK Chauhan, laid a lure and purportedly caught Soni and the Superintendent “red-handed” accepting a bribe.
The complainant and his brother had been working a bullion agency, based on the assertion. The accused Superintendent Shaikh had served them a discover to conduct an audit of the accounts of the agency for the monetary yr from July 2017 to March 2023, based on which Inspector Kushwah visited the complainant’s agency.
