In its bid to crack down on tax evasion within the type of gross sales of products sans invoices, the Division of Gujarat State Tax carried out searches on the premises of 14 taxpayers working in numerous sectors.
Preliminary assessments point out that the quantum of tax evasion is more likely to be round Rs 9.11 crore.Of the 14 taxpayers, 8 have been situated in Ahmedabad, 3 in Surat, 2 in Vapi and 1 in Vyara.
A number of irregularities, resembling hid gross sales and underreporting of tax legal responsibility have been observed, stated a press release from the division Thursday.
