A pair allegedly accused of dishonest individuals in lieu of offering visas has been arrested by the CID crime wing of Gujarat Police, stated officers on Tuesday.
The accused, recognized as Rushikesh Vinayak Purohit and his spouse Sujata Wandhwa, each residents of Bhayali in Vadodara and initially from Punjab’s Ludhiana, have been named in a number of dishonest complaints in Gujarat, stated the police.
The person and his spouse had been operating the corporate New Path Profession Options Pvt Ltd via which they cheated the complainant, stated the police.
“That they had promised everlasting residency (PR) in Canada to a sufferer and cheated the complainant of Rs 1.60 crore,” stated the police.
The sufferer Hardik Patel had filed a criticism on the Ahmedabad Zone Police Station for dishonest and fraud. Primarily based on the criticism, the investigation officer-cum- Police Inspector DV Tadvi looked for the accused in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The accused have been lastly arrested from Kasol village in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, stated the police.
“The couple was needed for a number of crimes, the instances for which have been filed at Bodakdev Police Station in Ahmedabad, Bapod and DCB police stations in Vadodara and Rajpipla Police Station in Narmada,” stated an official. In accordance with the preliminary probe, the police said that the couple “cheated a number of individuals in order that they may settle overseas with the loot cash”.
A probe is underway into the matter, stated the police.
