Minister of State for Dwelling Harsh Sanghavi, whereas responding to a query on “discrimination” in opposition to girls IPS officers, cited the instances of DGP Neerja Gotru who heads the Police Recruitment Board, Extra DGP Nipuna Torwane, the principal secretary (residence), and Lavina Sinha who helms the cyber fraud investigations. Within the 208-officer sturdy cadre, 34 IPS officers have been girls, the minister stated. Responding to a separate query on the cadre, the minister stated solely 24 officers from the state have been on Central deputation in opposition to the quota of 45 from Gujarat.
