Amid rising concern over frauds associated to “digital-arrests”, Surat BJP councillor Purnima Davle managed to report one such caller. The caller recognized himself as a customs officer from Delhi, and threatened to arrest her over a parcel allegedly containing 15 passports and a number of other faux paperwork in her identify. Davle, who’s the councillor from ward no. 28 in Pandesara space, contacted police and handed an utility to them with a cellphone quantity. Talking with The Indian Specific, she stated, “The caller verified my Aadhaar Id with me. He advised me that about 15 passports and different paperwork had been seized and arrest procedures might be completed. I advised him that I’m able to get arrested.” She then reported the caller..
