The Georgetown Hoyas ladies’s basketball staff was ridiculed on social media on Tuesday for its submit mourning the lack of a former participant after police bodycam footage was launched.
The Hoyas remembered Sydney Wilson in a submit on Sept. 20 after she was shot and killed in an incident with police. Wilson performed for the ladies’s basketball staff and graduated in 2013.

On Tuesday, Fairfax County, Virginia, police bodycam footage of the lethal incident was launched. The video confirmed Wilson, 33, attacking disaster intervention officer Peter Liu after he approached her house when her physician raised issues about her psychological well being.
The footage confirmed Wilson opening the door all of the sudden and instantly slashing at Liu with a knife. The officer rapidly backed up into the hallway, drew his firearm and ordered Wilson to retreat. Wilson brought about Liu to retreat whereas she chased him with the knife, the video confirmed.
Liu fired his gun as Wilson continued to assault him with the knife. He pushes previous her into the open hallway, however Wilson grabs him and continues attacking him with the knife, and Liu fires extra rounds. The officer then retreats into an extended hallway as Wilson collapses.

Footage from a pair of officers who responded moments after the incident reveals Liu’s face coated in blood from the place Wilson had slashed him within the brow. One of many officers tried to resuscitate Wilson, however was unsuccessful.
“Our police officer acted valiantly. He actually exhibited some grace beneath stress,” Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis mentioned in a Monday press convention.
X customers flooded the Hoyas’ account with digs in regards to the submit and photographs of Wilson.
Wilson performed for the Hoyas from 2009 to 2012.
