With the Aam Aadmi Celebration and the BJP accusing one another of distributing money and different presents to woo voters in Delhi, the Election Fee on Saturday instructed enforcement businesses to maintain a detailed watch on misuse of cash energy forward of the February 5 Meeting polls.
The EC held a gathering with the chief electoral officer (CEO), district election officers (DEO) and deputy commissioners of police (DCP) of Delhi to reiterate instructions issued earlier. Writing to the CEO, the EC mentioned the measures have been particularly needed within the 72 hours earlier than polling. The EC mentioned all DEOs ought to maintain legislation and order evaluation conferences with DCPs in presence with the EC-appointed observers.
“An in depth monitoring needs to be made by all of the enforcement businesses for monitoring all types of misuse of cash energy and inducement to voter…A correct investigation is crucial to determine linkage between the election course of and the availability of such inducements,” the EC wrote.
The directions come at a time when Aam Aadmi Celebration nationwide convenor Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that the EC has turned a blind eye to the distribution of inducements by the BJP. Parvesh Verma, BJP candidate for New Delhi, accused the AAP of distributing money.
