THE CHIEF of Air Employees (CAS) Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh would be the Reviewing Officer for the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 147th course — the Autumn Time period of 2024 — of the Nationwide Defence Academy (NDA) on November 30, defence officers in Pune stated on Thursday.
The POP marks the fruits of rigorous three-year-long coaching on the NDA. Because the Reviewing Officer of the parade, the CAS, himself an alumnus of the academy, will examine the cadets lined up for his or her closing parade. He’ll deal with the passing-out cadets and ceremonially pin medals on those that have earned high honours.
The convocation of the course shall be held on November 29 and Prof Alok Kumar Rai, Vice Chancellor, Lucknow College, would be the chief visitor.
Annually, India’s premier triservices academy witnesses the commencement and passing out of two batches of cadets. Located amidst the scenic foothills of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra, the NDA is usually hailed because the cradle of army management.
Upon finishing their three-year coaching on the NDA, the cadets proceed to their respective armed forces’ academies for an extra 12 months of pre-commissioning coaching. This contains the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala; the Indian Navy Academy in Dehradun for the Military; and the Air Pressure Academy at Dundigal.
In a historic transfer, June 2022 noticed the NDA admit its first batch of girls cadets. These girls cadets are a part of the 148th course, and can graduate in Could 2025, the Spring Time period of 2025.
