The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Tuesday arrested two Delhi Law enforcement officials — an inspector and a sub-inspector posted at Burari police station — for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10 lakh to not implicate a person in a case. The SHO (Burari police station) was additionally despatched to District Traces Tuesday night, officers mentioned.
A CBI spokesperson mentioned, “A case was registered by the CBI on October 14 towards two policemen. It’s alleged that Inspector Sandeep Ahlawat and Sub-Inspector Bhupesh Kumar demanded Rs 1.50 crore from the complainant for not implicating him in a faux case.”
“The complainant informed the CBI that Ahlawat allegedly agreed to just accept Rs 1 crore by the accused sub-inspector. The duo allegedly then determined to just accept a partial cost of Rs 10 lakh from the complainant,” the spokesperson added.
In response to the spokesperson, the CBI laid a lure and caught the accused SI red-handed whereas accepting the partial bribe quantity from the complainant on behalf of the inspector. Subsequently, Ahlawat, who was posted on the Burari police station, was additionally apprehended, they mentioned.
