
Days after the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) needed to postpone its assembly after SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch conveyed she can be unable to attend, Chief of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in a video on X stated Saturday that “the Madhabi Buch scandal is an instance of what occurs when establishments collapse and cronyism takes over”.

On October 24, the PAC was to query the SEBI chief on US-based Hindenburg Analysis’s allegation that Buch and her husband, Dhaval Buch, had “stake in obscure offshore entities utilized in Adani cash siphoning scandal.” Armed with this, the Congress, over the previous few months, made a collection of allegations towards the SEBI chief and her husband. Buch and her husband have denied the allegations levelled by the Congress as “false, incorrect, malicious and motivated.”
