BJP MLC Ram Shinde is ready to develop into the Chairperson of the Maharashtra Legislative Council as he filed the nomination papers for the submit Wednesday through the ongoing Nagpur winter session.
Shinde being the one candidate, his election is now a mere formality. With Shinde’s election, the submit of council chairman, which has remained vacant since July 2022, will lastly be crammed. The submit fell vacant when the then chairman Ramraje Naik-Nimbalkar of undivided NCP retired.
Shinde was accompanied by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM and NCP president Ajit Pawar and Minster and state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Chandrakant Patil and Jaykumar Rawal of BJP, and Uday Samant of Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

In accordance with sources, Shinde was eyeing the submit for Deputy Speaker and MLC Neelam Gorhe.
