A Bengaluru man was arrested after he allegedly tried to seize a rifle from a Central Industrial Safety Drive (CISF) officer in Kempegowda Worldwide Airport (KIA) on October 14, the police stated.
The police have recognized the arrested as Vikram Ramdas, 35, a resident of Kasturi Nagar, who had flown in from Hyderabad that morning.
In accordance with the police, Ramdas had mistakenly taken one other passenger’s baggage whereas exiting the terminal, which led to a minor argument with the rightful proprietor of the baggage round 7.30 am and subsequently the CISF officer intervened.
“It was at this level that Ramdas allegedly interfered with the officer’s duties,” stated a police officer.
The CISF officer on responsibility alerted the management room. The Fast Response Staff (QRT) arrived on the scene, detained Ramdas, and handed him over to the KIA police for questioning.
Ramdas was booked beneath Part 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for utilizing prison pressure to discourage a public servant from responsibility. He was later launched on station bail.
