
Chief of Opposition in Meeting Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday sought the switch of investigation into the alleged vandalism and destruction of railway property by agitators protesting the amended Waqf regulation to the Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA).
In a letter to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the BJP MLA mentioned that vandalism occurred at varied railway stations in Murshidabad district on Friday. “I humbly request that the investigation into these acts of vandalism be handed over to the Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA),” Adhikari wrote to the Railways minister, including that given the delicate nature of the violent protests and since Murshidabad district borders Bangladesh, NIA is completely suited to carry the investigation into such violence.
“Such a step would assist uncover the true faces of the masterminds conspiring from behind the scenes, determine the perpetrators and future occurrences,” Adhikari wrote.
