Forward of a protest march in Maharashtra’s Beed on Saturday over the demand that the killers of Massajog village sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh be arrested, Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil on Friday warned Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that he must repent if he didn’t take a powerful stand within the case.
“Chief minister saheb, it is best to remember…You shouldn’t assist these concerned within the sarpanch’s homicide in any other case you’ll have to repent,” Jarange-Patil stated talking to reporters in Beed.
Jarange-Patil arrived in Beed on Saturday morning to take part within the ‘Akrosh Morcha’ organised to demand the arrest of the accused within the case. “If the chief minister fails to arrest the true culprits, we’ll organise morchas throughout the state,” he warned.
“We hope the state authorities will hear the voices of the individuals and get up. If the federal government refuses to get up, we should drive it to get up…We won’t sit quietly until we get justice on this matter. Be it the ruling events or the Opposition events, nobody ought to play politics on this matter,” Jarange-Patil stated.
Deshmukh was kidnapped in broad daylight on December 9, pushed right into a Scorpio, and allegedly assaulted for round three hours earlier than he succumbed. His physique was dumped on a street close to his village.
Deshmukh’s homicide rocked the Winter Meeting session, with Opposition MLAs staging protests demanding the arrest of the accused. Even leaders of the ruling dispensation pointed fingers at Walmik Karad, alleged to be a detailed affiliate of Maharashtra’s Meals and Civil Provides Minister Dhananjay Munde.
Jarange-Patil stated Fadnavis and the state deputy chief ministers shouldn’t take the incident calmly. “Some persons are resorting to goondaism, some are brandishing weapons, police are behaving arrogantly. The chief minister shouldn’t again such individuals…if he does, he should repent. Whoever is concerned within the homicide, be it an MLA or a minister, put him in jail. Even 19 days later, the culprits are scot-free. Does this imply the CM is backing them?” Jarange-Patil requested.
