A 30-year-old man was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar on Friday for allegedly raping and murdering a six-year-old lady who was discovered useless inside his room, the police mentioned. The accused was arrested after being injured in an encounter with the police as he was allegedly making an attempt to flee.

“She died of asphyxiation as her mouth was filled with a fabric. The accused fled after she died,” a senior police officer mentioned.
The accused was noticed in a close-by forest space on Friday morning and was arrested after he suffered accidents in his legs after being shot at by the police. The police mentioned he was arrested below sections 63 (rape) and 101 (homicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Safety of Youngsters from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
