Americans should be ‘outraged’ over Mayorkas’ comments on FEMA funds: He is a ‘virus’

Although states throughout the southeastern U.S. are nonetheless reeling from Hurricane Helene’s harmful path, Homeland Safety Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas warned FEMA “doesn’t have the funds” to get by way of hurricane season. On “Fox & Buddies First” Thursday, Florida Lawyer Common Ashley Moody shredded the secretary over the feedback, declaring the greater than $1 billion spent on migrants.

And Florida’s been warning about this since this administration took over. Mayorkas has are available like a virus and contaminated what want[s] to be wholesome, sturdy, basic packages to make sure the steadiness and security of People in occasions of catastrophe.

So that you heard they’ve taken the FEMA emergency meals and shelter program and over time siphoned off tons of of thousands and thousands of {dollars} into mainly making it an unlawful immigrant resettlement program. And so whenever you see these states and cities across the nation declaring emergencies, even blue states, due to what this administration has finished, encouraging increasingly more and extra, creating packages to encourage increasingly more and extra individuals to return right here. The federal government, Biden and Harris, are having to fund that on the backs of the American individuals. And proper now in Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, all of those states are hurting due to this actually pure catastrophe, not a Biden-Harris-made catastrophe. They’re saying we’d like extra money. And naturally, they want extra money as a result of they have been laundering it from the supposed function of this fund that Congress set forth. Legal guidelines be damned.

As reduction efforts and catastrophe response groups work to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Mayorkas issued a chilling warning about FEMA funding.

“We’re assembly the instant wants with the cash that we have now. We predict one other hurricane hitting. We do not need the funds. FEMA doesn’t have the funds to make it by way of the season,” Mayorkas stated Wednesday. 

Hurricane Helene made landfall final week as a Class 4 storm. It lurched up by way of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.  

The demise toll has risen to over 190 throughout the affected states.
