A spokesperson for the airline informed Fox Information Digital that AA flight 292 “landed safely in Rome on Sunday afternoon after it was diverted as a result of a safety concern, which later proved to be non-credible.”Â

Flight 292 had departed New York Metropolis’s John F. Kennedy Worldwide Airport on its approach to New Delhi, India when it was diverted.

The airline didn’t specify what the reason for the safety concern was, however stated, per Delhi (DEL) Airport protocol, an inspection was required earlier than touchdown at DEL.
The aircraft was inspected by legislation enforcement in Rome and cleared.
