
The Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday arrested a contract labourer who allegedly murdered his elder sister in Agra district after her 19-year-old son eloped with the accused’s 34-year-old spouse on Sunday night time.
The police stated that the accused Ravi Singh, 38, slit the throat of Gita Devi Singh, 45, wrapped the physique in a plastic bag, and hurled it right into a vacant plot adjoining to his home in Tehdi Bagia.
Ravi Singh, who had escaped along with his 12-year-old son, was arrested from Delhi and dropped at Agra, the police stated. The police are but to hint the eloped couple.
In accordance with the police, residents of the locality noticed the bag from which the legs of a lady have been protruding and alerted the police. A girl dwelling close by instructed the police that she noticed Singh throwing a big plastic bag within the plot on Sunday night time.
“After we rushed to Singh’s home, his room was discovered locked. We forcibly opened the room and located blood everywhere in the room, damaged bangle items on the ground, and a blood-stained knife used for the crime. We put his cellphone on surveillance and traced him to Delhi,” stated Bhanu Pratap Singh, the Station Home Officer (SHO), Trans Yamuna police station.
In accordance with the police, Ravi Singh’s spouse Roshni was in a relationship with Bhura, 19, the elder son of the deceased, Gita Devi, who was additionally residing within the neighbourhood. Neighbours instructed the police that that they had noticed Bhura frequenting the home of his maternal aunt after her husband went for work.
Bhura and his aunt had eloped on February 16 and their relations traced the couple to Ballabgarh in Haryana, the police stated.

“Bhura was dropped at Agra on February 24 however Roshni refused to come back, stating that she didn’t need to dwell along with her husband Ravi. On February 26, she got here to Agra. However Bhura and Roshni eloped once more two days later, which irked the accused,” stated Suraj Kumar Rai, Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP).
Gita’s husband, Pratap Singh, instructed the police that he had spoken to his spouse on Sunday night when she was at her brother’s home. ”She didn’t return residence that night time and the subsequent morning we have been knowledgeable that the police had recovered her physique,” Pratap instructed native media.
Pratap instructed the police that Ravi had moved to a rented home reverse his residence 10 months in the past.
