The allegations couldn’t be independently verified by PTI. Chinmoy Krishna Das, who served as a spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote, was arrested at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal Worldwide Airport on Monday whereas travelling to Chattogram for a rally. He was denied bail and despatched to jail the next day.
Das described the assault on Roy as “a direct consequence of his authorized defence of Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu” and emphasised the rising challenges for advocates of spiritual minorities in Bangladesh.
