GOP vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance is standing by former President Donald Trump’s false claims that Venezuelan gangs have invaded and conquered Aurora, Colorado.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang have “taken over” condominium complexes and “overrun” town, as he did in a rally within the metropolis on Friday.
Mike Coffman, the Republican mayor of Aurora, stated Trump’s claims are “grossly exaggerated” and “have unfairly damage town’s id and sense of security.”
Requested by “This Week” co-anchor Martha Raddatz on Sunday if he helps Trump making these claims, Vance didn’t again down.
“Effectively, Martha, you simply stated the mayor stated they have been exaggerated. Meaning there’s bought to be some ingredient of fact right here,” Vance stated.”
Raddatz adopted up with Vance, saying the problems in Aurora have been restricted to a handful of condominium complexes and that the mayor launched an announcement saying town’s “devoted law enforcement officials have acted on these considerations and can proceed to take action.”
Vance responded, saying Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris triggered the problems in Aurora.
“Martha, do you hear your self? Solely a handful of condominium complexes in America have been taken over by Venezuelan gangs, and Donald Trump is the issue, and never Kamala Harris’s open border? Individuals are so fed up with what is going on on, and so they have each proper to be,” Vance stated.
