
Amid criticism towards the proposed tunnel roads in Bengaluru, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D Ok Shivakumar mentioned on Wednesday that the undertaking was a part of a long-term plan to ease visitors congestion, including that the price of widening roads as a substitute can be prohibitive.
The tunnel roads have been proposed from Hebbal to Silk Board and from Ok R Puram to Mysuru Street.
“(To widen the street) alongside Bengaluru Palace, authorities is in a quandary over paying Rs 3,000 crore as TDR compensation. Within the tunnel street stretch, if we wish to widen the street, then compensation for the land acquired itself would quantity to Rs 3 lakh crore,” he mentioned at a information convention.
