
A 20-year-old lady from Noida was arrested at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Worldwide (IGI) Airport fon Monday or allegedly smuggling medicine value over Rs 11 crore.
Based on officers, the lady arrived from Bangkok on February 21 and was intercepted by officers of the Customs Division throughout routine checks. Upon examination of her baggage, authorities found eight packets of cookies and rice containing a green-coloured narcotic substance. The fabric, suspected to be ganja or marijuana, had a web weight of 11.28 kg.
“A diagnostic take a look at carried out on the seized materials prima facie confirmed it to be ganja or marijuana. The estimated illicit market worth of the seized substance is roughly Rs 11.28 crore,” the Customs Division said.
Following the seizure, the lady was taken into custody, and the narcotics have been confiscated.
