Boeing will cut back the dimensions of its whole workforce by 10% over the approaching months, CEO Kelly Ortberg stated in a letter to staff on Friday.
That quantities to round 17,000 jobs, based mostly on the corporate’s December 2023 whole workforce numbers.
Ortberg stated as a result of workforce reductions, Boeing wouldn’t proceed with the subsequent cycle of furloughs.
Ortberg additionally stated the 777X program can be delayed till 2026, the 767 freighter program would finish in 2027 and the corporate expects “substantial new losses” in Boeing Protection, Area & Safety this quarter.
