
Scott Sauerbeck, a former MLB pitcher who performed for 4 massive league groups, died on Wednesday in Florida. He was 53.
Pittsburgh Baseball Now reported that Sauerbeck suffered a coronary heart assault. He made his main league debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1999. The franchise confirmed the pitcher’s loss of life on Thursday.

“The Pirates household mourns the passing of Scott Sauerbeck,” the crew wrote on X, previously often known as Twitter. “Scott performed for the Bucs from 1999-2003 and shares the membership report for many video games pitched by a LHP in a single season.
“Our ideas are along with his household and associates throughout this time.”
The 2002 season was maybe Sauerbeck’s most memorable, as his 78 appearances set the Pirates franchise report for many video games pitched in a single season. He stays the record-holder.

Sauerbeck landed with the Boston Crimson Sox by way of a commerce throughout the 2003 season, later signing with Cleveland. He didn’t seem in any video games in 2004 resulting from an damage.

A stint with the Athletics in 2006 marked his last run within the majors. Sauerbeck did land a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds group in 2008.
