A Russian-born U.S. citizen who was already behind bars in Russia on a bribery conviction has been handed a second sentence for espionage.
Eugene Spector was sentenced to a brand new 15-year time period for his espionage conviction, in line with Russian information companies. Spector was born and raised in Leningrad, Russia, however later moved to the U.S. and have become a citizen.

The U.S. State Division mentioned it was conscious of experiences of a U.S. citizen in Russia being sentenced and that it was monitoring the scenario.
Spector, a former govt at a medical tools firm in Russia, was sentenced in September 2022 to 3 and a half years in jail for enabling bribes to an aide of former Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich.

The aide, Anastasia Alekseyeva, was sentenced to 12 years in April for accepting bribes of two costly abroad trip journeys.
Dvorkovich was a deputy prime minister below former Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in 2012 to 2018. Dvorkovich is presently head of the worldwide chess federation FIDE.
