The Gujarat GST Division has allegedly detected tax evasion estimated to the tune of Rs 5.42 crore following state-wide raids performed at 67 areas throughout the state, in line with an official assertion launched on Sunday.
The searches had been performed on the locations of individuals engaged in renting out social gathering plots and offering mandap, ornament and catering companies for capabilities and occasions, stated the assertion.
In line with the assertion, the search operations had been carried out in cities equivalent to Ahmedabad, Anand, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Kheda, Nadiad and Vadodara on December 18, revealing important irregularities.
“The investigations uncovered unaccounted transactions and deliberate underreporting of tax liabilities. The Preliminary assessments point out a tax evasion of about Rs 5.42 crore, with the full transactions estimated at Rs 24.89 crore,” stated the division’s launch.
