Senior Congress chief and former Union Minister E V Ok S Elangovan died on account of age-related illnesses at a non-public hospital right here on Saturday, the hospital stated.
He was 75.
The legislator from Erode East constituency has not been maintaining properly for over a month. He was admitted to a hospital right here on November 11.
“He handed away in the present day regardless of the most effective efforts of the medical employees,” the hospital stated. TNCC president Ok Selvaperunthagai described the passing of Elangovan as “an enormous loss”.
“He was an outspoken individual and his dying is an irreparable loss to his household and the Congress celebration, and to me personally,” he stated.
